About Don Melchor:
Don Melchor is a legacy wine from Chile, first created in 1987 by Concha y Toro, and named for their forefather in Chilean wine, Melchor Concha y Toro. This wine pioneer helped bring French grapes from Bordeaux to the Maipo Valley in 1883, and laid the foundation for what is now their vineyard. This varietal is among Chile’s most-acclaimed wines with a Cabernet Sauvignon that is thought to be one of the best in the world, due to all the awards it has won.
“Wine Enthusiast has awarded the 2015 vintage of Don Melchor an outstanding 94 points, the highest rating it has ever given to a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon.”
“US magazine Wine Spectator has awarded the 2015 vintage of Don Melchor an outstanding 96 points, the highest rating it has ever given to a Chilean wine.
“The 2014 vintage of Don Melchor was ranked No. 8 out of 100 by US wine critic, James Suckling.”
